An orchestral American celebration
An orchestral American celebration
The magnificent chamber ensemble version of Copland's hopeful peon to early American settlers forms the highlight of this excellent program from Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera. Evoking the challenges and adventures of the land's first immigrants, Copland's enduring Pulitzer Prize-winning epic is a monumental work to witness in any arrangement.
Also on the program is the colorful Strum by Jessie Montgomery, as well as Johann Sebastian Bach's Ricercar a 6 arranged by Anton Webern, with the evening closed out in majestic fashion with Mozart's Symphony Noi 38. Prepare for an unmissable performance!
