"Water" far exceeds expectations.

I attend live theatre basically once a week, and always hope for the best. I'm often let down. Then there are those productions that just exceed all expectations. "Water for Elephants" falls gloriously into this category. Musicals can combine music with comedy, with drama, with dance....but circus acts? Not just 'yes' but spectacularly YES. The visuals....the sets, the costumes, the lighting....are not only exquisite but achieve a high mark for any production, especially a 'touring' one. The cast is uniformly great, led by a true star-making performance by lead Zachary Keller. And then there are the circus acts. It is no exaggeration to say the audience was spellbound....too many 'oohs' and 'ahhhhs' to count....with many individual acts receiving the kind of spontaneous applause usually associated with an exceptional musical number. There are a few hiccups with the book, but none serious. Over-all I recommend this show without hesitation.

This is one of my all time favorite plays. The way they brought the circus to the stage was absolutely incredible. The acrobatics, dancing, and aerobics was so magical. I would highly recommend.!

A Great Show Don't Miss it

This is an amazing show that combines talented actors/singers, skilled acrobats and very creative staging. There is just enough of the book to make the story line work. You will be overwhelmed by the singing and acting of Grant Gustin. My only criticism is: the play is a little long. It can be trimmed by 20-30 minutes.

When you are watching a show with such newness and watching the aerobatics, the singing, and the choreography was just magnificent. It just brings a show together and you can see the family dynamics of the showm

You are seeing a circus and a Broadway show. The acrobats and dancers are the best part of this show. I found myself holding my breath for many moments but was just in awe of their talent. The dance numbers are very athletic and as I dancer, I appreciated the choreography. The songs are have clever lyrics but you do not have a strong anthem for this show. Leads carry their parts very well. Definitely worth seeing this show under the Big Top.
