Zlatomir Fung Performs

Bulgarian-Chinese cellist extraordinaire Zlatomir Fung joins the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera for a journey through Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme, the perfect vessel through which to showcase his impressive versatility on the instrument. Sandwiching that is Catan's Florencia, with Schumann's wonderful Third Symphony closing out the evening, under the direction of conductor Ari Pelto.

Zlatomir Fung became the youngest ever cellist to win First Prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. One of an exciting new generation of classical musicians, following his appointment to the cello faculty at Juilliard, he was named in Classic FM's Rising Stars list in 2025 and released his debut album in April via Signum Records.
